Logic Pro 7 Guide

Audio & MIDI Recording and Mastering
Apple's Logic Pro 7 is perhaps the most complete program for songwriting and composition. It supports digital audio and MIDI, and runs under Mac OS9 & OSX. Originally created in 1988 by a company who became known as Emagic, it has undergone major upgrades throughout its history while providing excellent timing and editing features, and the largest number of built-in effects and instruments. Our site explains the main components of Logic Pro. I haven't used Logic much over the past couple of years, so I'm in the process of updating this area of my website to more accurately reflect the current version of Logic. Feel free to send comments to me at support@lo-res.com.

Last year I migrated to Logic Studio, which features Logic 8, Main Stage, and drops SoundDiver. Although I'm thrilled with Main Stage, I'm thoroughly PISSED with Apple for dissing SoundDiver owners, who were expecting and waiting for many years for that product to be brought up to current standards. As a guy who owns over 16 hardware synths and who has owned over 70, it's evident that Apple doesn't care about hardware instruments. Well, they're wrong, and they should. I encourage other enthusiasts of hardware synthesizers to contact Apple and tell them that SoundDiver is an indispensible tools for managing patch libraries for hardware synths. And installing it never makes your computer unbootable, unlike the competition (I'm talking to you, MIDIQUEST).

This site will be updated to reflect the changes brought about by Logic 8 later this year.
