Logic Pro Environments
Environments in Apple Logic Pro
Perhaps the most powerful feature of Logic is its longstanding ability to be customized for an individual's needs. The environment is perhaps the trickiest part about Logic, but that's what gives it so much power. Want to have one keyboard controller play sounds from 2 synths but in different ranges (bass on synth 1, strings on synth 2)? Need to control a softsynth using a hardware controller? Or how about setting up special audio routings? Well those are tasks you can perform by customizing the Logic Environment.
I'm a real novice at this, but am working on putting together my own custom environment. Here's a screenshot of what I've got running so far. Click on the picture to enlarge it. So far I've built multi instruments for each of the devices midi'ed in my studio, but have yet to route them anywhere special. Also the Roland VK8 item is incorrect -- I think it only works on a couple of midi channels at once, but I have to do more research on that.
