As the founder of the DS-8 Network, I owned and programmed many patches for the Korg DS-8 and 707. This CD contains a PDF of the User Manual, ad slick, and reviews from Keyboard Magazine. Also included are some extremely rare articles on the 707 as well as detailed sysex info for both models.
I also have included over 12 sets of bank data (as well as a few voice data files). I have also included a HyperCard patch librarian (which requires MacOS9 or earlier and a serial MIDI interface running at 1x speed). I have included freeware sysex transfer software for Macintosh OS9, OSX, and PC along with a step-by-step guide for PC users for saving and loading SysEx data. Also you will find a patch names database so you can keep track of the sounds that you like the best.
All files shipped to you on CD-ROM that is compatible with both Macintosh & Windows PCs. This would make a wonderful addition to anyone who owns a Korg DS-8 or Korg 707, which can both load the same patch data. Get more from your vintage Korg by using the files on this cd!

Q) Do I get a free synthesizer along with this cd?
A) NO! This is just a CD with program data for this model synthesizer.
But since most people buy a new synth to get new sounds, you can pump
more life into your vintage gear by purchasing the collection of sound
data that is available on this cd.
Q) How do
I get these sounds into my (other make) synthesizer?
A) It cannot be done! This program data will only work for the models
specified above. Think of a synth as a computer -- it will only run the
programs that are made for it.
Q) You just
grabbed this stuff from the internet. I could do that!
A) Actually, that's not the case on this disc -- I've put stuff on here
that is available No Place Else. If you really want to try, be prepared
to spend hundreds of hours tracking down this stuff. Many of the pdf's
are files that I made myself at a cost of time and money to buy photocopied
manuals and such. And I've tossed out a bunch of Sysex files that did
not work. Plus, I've got a vast array of software tools that helped in
the development of this cd. Save yourself the time and money, and just
buy my disc already. It's under $20!
Q) Do you
have demos that we can hear?
A) There are no demo audio files yet, but I am working on a series of
sample DVDs based on some of the sounds contained in this data. Check
back here to hear and see the results.
Q) How do
I get this to work on my computer?
A) I'm working on generating some documentation for all synth models and
for Mac and PC, but I haven't completed this yet. When it's done registered
purchasers can download updates from my website.
Q) Your disc
Rocks! I spent hundreds of dollars on commercial patches that aren't as
good.
A) Thanks. I didn't get a high thumbs-up rating on Ebay by just waiting
