This should appeal to those of you who need to get your Prophet-600 back up and running with factory patches after its Lithium cell dies. Or perhaps you prefer to load your sounds from a Walkman instead of bringing your computer to live performances. Includes the factory patches from Sequential Circuits.

Q. Can this
tape help me to load sounds into my Oberheim OB-8 after
the internal lithium battery dies?
A. Yes!
Q. How do
I use this with my Oberheim OB-8?
A. Korg's manual tells you how. Sadly, I do not have an Oberheim OB-8 manual,
but I assume it is similar to the how this process works on the Korg Poly-800:
Step 1 - set the memory protect switch to Off
Step 2 - plug a cassette deck into the data in port
Step 3 - set the Oberheim OB-8 to Load mode
Step 4 - press play on the cassette to load the sounds
Your mileage may vary.
Q) Do I get
a free synthesizer along with this cassette?
A) NO! This is just a cassette with program data for this model synthesizer.
But since most people buy a new synth to get new sounds, you can pump
more life into your vintage gear by purchasing the collection of sound
data that is available on this cassette.
Q) How do
I get these sounds into my (other make) synthesizer?
A) It cannot be done! This program data will only work for the models
specified above. Think of a synth as a computer -- it will only run the
programs that are made for it.
Q) Do you
have demos that we can hear?
A) There are no demo audio files yet, but I plan to make a series of sample
cd's based on some of the sounds contained in this data. Check back here
to hear the results
Q) How do
I get this to work on my computer?
A) I'm working on generating some documentation for all synth models and
for Mac and PC, but I haven't completed this yet. When it's done, registered
purchasers can download updates from my website.
Q) Your disc
Rocks! I spent hundreds of dollars on commercial patches that aren't as
good.
