Synth Rescue Kit: Korg DW-8000 / EX-8000 CD for Macintosh & PC

This CD contains a PDF of the User Manuals for both the DW-8000 and EX-8000. You will also find a review of the DW-8000 and a Patch list. I have included the original 6 banks of patches from Korg, including not only side A and side B of the original data cassette, but also the 4banks that were included on the MEX-8000 memory expander. Several additional banks are also included in SysEx format (.SYX). If you've got a soundcard on your PC or Mac, you can also use the WAV versions of patches by connecting a cable between your headphone out and the DW-8000's or EX-8000's tape input jack. Finally there are some programs I found on the internet which will help you to load and manage your patches.
All files shipped to you on CD-ROM that is compatible with both Macintosh & Windows PCs. This would make a wonderful addition to anyone who owns a Korg DW-8000 or EX-8000, which can both share the same patch data. Get more from your vintage Korg by using the files on this cd!
Please note: the DW-6000, while similar to these two later models in many respects, uses a different format for patch data because it has fewer sampled waveforms onboard (2 instead of 16). This means that you can't load DW-8000 data into a DW-6000.

Q) Do I get a free synthesizer along with this cd?
A) NO! This is just a CD with program data for this model synthesizer.
But since most people buy a new synth to get new sounds, you can pump
more life into your vintage gear by purchasing the collection of sound
data that is available on this cd.
Q) How do
I get these sounds into my (other make) synthesizer?
A) It cannot be done! This program data will only work for the models
specified above. Think of a synth as a computer -- it will only run the
programs that are made for it.
Q) You just
grabbed this stuff from the internet. I could do that!
A) Actually, that's not the case on this disc -- I've put stuff on here
that is available No Place Else. If you really want to try, be prepared
to spend hundreds of hours tracking down this stuff. Many of the pdf's
are files that I made myself at a cost of time and money to buy photocopied
manuals and such. And I've tossed out a bunch of Sysex files that did
not work. Plus, I've got a vast array of software tools that helped in
the development of this cd. Save yourself the time and money, and just
buy my disc already. It's under $20!
Q) Do you
have demos that we can hear?
A) There are no demo audio files yet, but I am working on a series of
sample DVDs based on some of the sounds contained in this data. Check
back here to hear and see the results.
Q) How do
I get this to work on my computer?
A) I'm working on generating some documentation for all synth models and
for Mac and PC, but I haven't completed this yet. When it's done registered
purchasers can download updates from my website.
Q) Your disc
Rocks! I spent hundreds of dollars on commercial patches that aren't as
good.
A) Thanks. I didn't get a high thumbs-up rating on Ebay by just waiting
