As a former owner and programmer of the Korg Poly-800 (officially the PS-800), I made PDFs of the User Manual, Program List (including not just the names of patches, but all the settings), and MDK ROM sheet (that's the rare ROM upgrade that allows first generation Poly-800 keyboard synthsesizers to transmit patch data via Sysex).

I also have over 10 WAV files including program data which can be loaded into a Poly-800 if you've got an audio cable connecting your computer's sound card to the Poly-800 (under $5 from Radio Shack, not included).

Additionally, I have included sysex patch transfer software for Macintosh OS9, OSX, and PC (I don't have a Poly-800 any more, so I can't test it) as well as some data in sysex format. I've also included information about some mods you (or a technician) can make to the Poly-800 to make it a better synth for modern music, as well as more valuable information. Now includes a patch names database so you can flag sounds that you like the best.

All files shipped to you on CD-ROM that is compatible with both Macintosh & Windows PCs. This would make a wonderful addition to anyone who owns a (PS-800) Poly-800, and EX-800 which are based on the same type of hybrid digital/analog programming and are able to load the same patches. FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions - taken from real emails I have received):
Q) Do I get a free synthesizer along with this cd?
A) NO! This is just a CD with program data for this model synthesizer. But since most people buy a new synth to get new sounds, you can pump more life into your vintage gear by purchasing the collection of sound data that is available on this cd.

Q) How do I get these sounds into my (other make) synthesizer?
A) It cannot be done! This program data will only work for the models specified above. Think of a synth as a computer -- it will only run the programs that are made for it.

Q) You just grabbed this stuff from the internet. I could do that!
A) Actually, that's not the case on this disc -- I've put stuff on here that is available No Place Else. If you really want to try, be prepared to spend hundreds of hours tracking down this stuff. Many of the pdf's are files that I made myself at a cost of time and money to buy photocopied manuals and such. And I've tossed out a bunch of Sysex files that did not work. Plus, I've got a vast array of software tools that helped in the development of this cd. Save yourself the time and money, and just buy my disc already. It's under $20!

Q) Do you have demos that we can hear?
A) There are no demo audio files yet, but I am working on a series of sample DVDs that will include some of these sounds.

Q) How do I get this to work on my computer?
A)There are manuals for all 3 Poly-800 models on this CD, which can take you through the steps of loading the patches into your Poly-800; however, you will need a mono audio cable to connect your sound card/headphone port with your Poly-800. You can likely find the right cable here on Ebay or at your neighborhood Radio Shack.

Q) Your disc Rocks! I spent hundreds of dollars on commercial patches that aren't as good.
