VSRK Yamaha SY77 / TG77

Vintage Synth Rescue Kit: Yamaha SY/TG Series CD-ROM for Macintosh & PC
Includes: 20000+ Patches / Manuals / Software
for SY22, SY35, SY55, SY77, SY85, SY99, TG33, TG55, TG77, TG500

The Yamaha SY77 and TG77 are monster synths that include 2 different synthesis types -- AWM, which is a method of playing back samples from ROM, and 6-operator FM, which is what makes the DX7 tick. What makes these 2 synths so powerful and complex to program is that ROMpler voices can be processed through the FM part, or layered with FM sounds to make them more "deep".

As my newest VSRK, it's has not been tested as much as the older and more popular series, such as the discs for the M1, DX7, and D-50. But there's still a lot of useful information that you may enjoy if you buy this disc.

Additionally, I have included sysex patch transfer software for Macintosh OS9, OSX, and PC as well as some data in sysex format.

All files shipped to you on CD-ROM that is compatible with both Macintosh & Windows PCs. This would make a wonderful addition to anyone who owns a Yamaha TG77 or SY77, both of which are based on the same type of hybrid digital/analog programming and are able to load the same patches. Get more value from your Yamaha synthesizer by using the files on this cd.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions - taken from real emails I have received):
Q) Do I get a free synthesizer along with this cd?
A) NO! This is just a CD with program data for this model synthesizer. But since most people buy a new synth to get new sounds, you can pump more life into your vintage gear by purchasing the collection of sound data that is available on this cd.

Q) How do I get these sounds into my (other make) synthesizer?
A) It cannot be done! This program data will only work for the models specified above. Think of a synth as a computer -- it will only run the programs that are made for it.

Q) You just grabbed this stuff from the internet. I could do that!
A) Actually, that's not the case on this disc -- I've put stuff on here that is available No Place Else. If you really want to try, be prepared to spend hundreds of hours tracking down this stuff. Many of the pdf's are files that I made myself at a cost of time and money to buy photocopied manuals and such. And I've tossed out a bunch of Sysex files that did not work. Plus, I've got a vast array of software tools that helped in the development of this cd. Save yourself the time and money, and just buy my disc already. It's only $9.99!

Q) Do you have demos that we can hear?
A) There are no demo audio files yet, but I plan to make a series of sample cd's based on some of the sounds contained in this data. Check back at my website in September 2004 to hear and see the results:

Q) How do I get this to work on my computer?
A) I'm working on generating some documentation for all synth models and for Mac and PC, but I haven't completed this yet. When it's done (May 2004), I'll email all the registered purchasers of this product, and they will be able to download updates from my website.

Q) Your disc Rocks! I spent hundreds of dollars on commercial patches that aren't as good.
A) Thanks. I didn't get a high thumbs-up rating on Ebay by just waiting for success to happen. Sieze the day? Nope, Carpe discum! *seize the disc*
